The Royal Palace of Amsterdam (known as the Paleis op de Dam) was built between 1648 and 1665 as a town hall. The palace is now used by the Royal Family as a reception palace and for exhibitions. The architect is Jacob van Campen, he had it built in the style of Dutch classicism.
